Headteacher at The Meads Primary School
I have the privilege of being in my eighth year as Headteacher at The Meads Primary School; a growing school, with upwards of 560 children on our ever increasing roll. I have 25 years teaching experience having previously fulfilled various roles in my 12 years at Chantry Primary School, culminating in 5 years as Assistant Head teacher as well as part-time Local Authority Consultant for Assessment, and before that as a class teacher at Wigmore Primary School where I started my career.
I strongly believe that all members of staff are entitled to a range of good quality professional development opportunities that starts with a thorough induction programme. I am passionate about schools collaborating together to get the best for our children and staff. I have supported colleagues with data analysis, monitoring exercises and staff development. I am particularly interested in supporting and mentoring new Headteachers and Leadership teams.
Headteacher at Downside Primary School
I am currently Headteacher of Downside Primary School – a very large primary school with over 1000 pupils. I joined Downside in September 2011 and relished the challenge of amalgamating the infant and junior school in to a new five form entry primary school. Prior to working at Downside, I had the pleasure of working in a number of Local Authorities in the south of the country. I then spent a brief time in Buckinghamshire as a Deputy Head, before getting my first Headship in Luton in 2004.
Recently, I have mentored Heads both in and out of Luton and spent a year supporting Acting Headteachers in a local school. I enjoy working with other schools on supporting their school improvement journey and working with different teams within the school.
