The Excellence in Classroom Support Programme is for Teaching Assistants to develop their classroom practice. It is ideal for Teaching Assistants who wish to have a wider impact on improving the quality of teaching and learning across the school. The programme focuses on a range of aspects of teaching and learning, such as: challenge, engagement, assessment, differentiation and questioning. There will be opportunities for lesson observations at the host schools to see these focus areas in practice.
What does it involve?
Over six sessions, you will cover the following:
- Understanding the role of a teaching assistant.
- Effective questioning to deepen understanding.
- SEN in the classroom.
- Working with EAL children.
- Impacting on children’s learning during teacher led
- Facilitating learning in small groups.
