Kim is a Learning and Teaching Consultant for Luton LA and as such has an interest in EAL learners across all key stages. She has a B.Ed. from Goldsmiths College, London and an M.A. from Kings College, London in Language, Ethnicity and Education. Kim has over 25 years of teaching experience in primary and middle schools mainly as an EAL practitioner. She began working with the Bell Foundation in 2015 when the Language for Results was being developed and is an active Bell Foundation Licenced Practitioner working with colleagues in local schools. In recent years Kim has also had an interest in Elective Home Education.
About This Course
Proficiency in English is the major factor influencing the educational achievement and the degree of support a pupil using EAL will require. It is esential to have an effective whole school assessment framework that will help teachers to plan next steps for their EAL learners.
