LFTSA is pleased to be working in collaboration with The Bell Foundation to deliver this workshop. The Bell Foundation specialise in creating opportunities, changing lives and overcoming exclusion through language education. They are passionate about improving outcomes for children with English as an additional language (EAL).
About the Workshop
Are you unsure about how to assess your EAL learners’ English effectively and how to identify personalised learning targets? From autumn 2016, all schools have to include details of their pupils’ English language proficiency as part of school census data. Proficiency in English is critical if we are to understand how EAL pupils achieve and this workshop aims to offer guidance for practitioners who are looking for a manageable way forward with EAL assessment in a complex landscape.
Delivery and Aims
A 3 hour workshop for staff with responsibility for EAL.
The workshop covers:
- The Bell Foundation’s guiding principles of EAL assessment.
- Getting to know The Bell Foundation's EAL Assessment Framework for schools.
